“Take a look at yourself and make a change” - Michael Jackson
That’s what I have on my mind since I first visited Sierra Leone in 2013. A beautiful country in west-Africa, with a culture that struggled but never lost hope. That lives at peace with each other and doesn’t care about the differences between one another.
I went to visit Sierra Leone to participate in the half marathon that was organized by the charity Street Child.
They work very hard to get children from living on the street, to live with a family. Moreover, they offer these children education and run a B2B programs to enable families to support themselves.
A very sustainable project, on which every euro gets used well.
Ever since then I support this great charity, by running a full Marathon in Ghana in 2014 and another one in Sierra Leone in 2015, to raise money to support their projects.
All together I raised about 2000 pounds, and I can tell you: this charity REALLY spends the money where it’s needed most!
So I'm going back for more, another marathon and hopefully lots of donations to make me run faster :)
I’ve been inspired by the people of Sierra Leone, and I want to inspire them. To help them build a bright future that seems to be so close.
PLEASE HELP me by enabling Street Child to make a difference. 50€ will send a kid to school for one year, 300€ will pay a teacher for one full year teaching the kids of a whole village. Also just 10€ will go a long way
Will you help me?
